Text Box:  Carroll Courthouse 
In 1929, the present Carroll County Courthouse was built, to replace the county's grand Victorian courthouse that has just recently burned. It was designed by the famed Atlanta architect J. J. Chase and constructed of Alabama limestone.   The county is committed to keeping the county's courthouse in downtown Carrollton, however, the entire structure is in need of restoration work to help preserve it for future use. The original upstairs courtroom, one of the largest in Georgia, is still being use to hold court. 
 
Text Box:  Confederate Monument
Carroll County's Confederate Monument was first erected in the center of the Adamson Square by the Annie Wheeler Chapter of United Daughters of the Confederacy on Confederate Memorial Day, April 26, 1910. It was then moved to the front lawn of Tanner Memorial Hospital on Dixie Street. Today it rests on the lawn of the Carroll County Courthouse.  It consist of a pedestal topped with a  soldier standing at rest while holding his musket.

The Carroll County Veterans Memorial Park is located just off of the Highway 166 Bypass and Hwy 16 next to the County Health Department. It is a visible symbol of our appreciation of our armed forces, and dedicated as a tribute to the men and women who have served and/or died for this great nation.
