CENTRAL OF GEORGIA FREIGHT & PASSENGER STATION

ALL ABOARD!!  The City of Carrollton, the Friends of the Carrolton Depot, and the Carroll County Historical Society, are leading the effort to restore the Historic Carrollton Depot. Since 1991, when Norfork-Southern announced plans to demolish the Carrollton Depot, local residents have campaigned to SAVE OUR STATION!  The City's SOS Committee laid the ground work for the present depot committee to move forward with its efforts to restore this important part of our history.

Restoration of the depot has been divided into phases. Phase I - will restore the exterior of the depot back to its 1910 cotton era look. Phase II - will take place in stages as a major fundraising campaign  headed by the Carroll County Historical Society and other interested citizens.   Plans are for the Carrollton Depot to become a museum/visitors center/convention and meeting center.
