Model Railroading

Along with efforts to save the Historic Carrolton Depot local model railroad hobbies Jay Cain has actively sought a way to include a model railroad display in the use of this historic building. Jay has built displays for several corporations and helped model railroading hobbies with display. He has also built a full scale model train display in his own home above his garage.

"The General"
This Is a scale model of famous Civil War Train "The General" that can be seen at the Cyclorama in Atlanta, Georgia.

The display of a model railroad town is similar to one that has been suggested for the Historic Carrollton Depot.

All Aboard!! - The Historic Carrollton Depot prairie style passenger station  is similar to  the one in this display.

Most model railroad displays go beyond the railroading theme to include just about any  theme or era . A mix of time periods both past and present are what make model train display so interesting and enjoyable.

A coal mining operation like this one adds to the theme of railroading's past.  The main  theme of a display in the Carrollton's historic depot might be that of shipping cotton by rail in the early 1900's
