CARROLL COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY

Spring Picnic

June 18, 2016 - Starting at 5:00 pm

Please join us for our annual Spring Picnic. This year the picnic will be held at the James D. Moore home at the Mooreaa???s Bridge Park Whitesburg, Georgia. We will be serving Southern fried chicken with all the fixings, & ice tea. Music will be provided by The Depot Gang, they specialize in Blue Grass & Gospel.

The James D. Moore house at the new county park is possibly one of the most historic buildings, not only in Carroll County but in west Georgia. The spring picnic will be at this Pre Civil War house which has survived over 151 years despite being in the middle of the battle in July 1864.

The authors of the bookaa??? Bridging Deep South Riversaa??? Thomas French & John Lupold will give a talk on the bridge & builder Horace King. We will also talk about the restoration of the house and area. We hope you can join us at this event, it will be fun and informative to all.

Directions: Follow the signs at the roundabout highway 5 and 16, in Whitesburg, GA, go toward Newnan take the second left onto old Newnan road go to end.

Please bring a lawn chair with you to this event. Thank You.
